Exciting time for my wardrobe. Having seen many a fabulous style on Instagram, dressing up or down a classic denim jacket, I realised that maybe I could wear one too, maybe I wasn’t ‘too old’, so added it to my ‘basics’ list. I haven’t been making a concerted effect to source one, just thought when the right one came along I’d know it……and voila it has occurred.
I honestly cannot recall ever owning a denim jacket; I’ve reached 50 and this is a new style for me; certainly my Mum never owned/wore one. Funny how times change, as I recently bought my best friends daughter a denim jacket for her 8th birthday. I certainly only began my fashion loving once I started work and could use my own money, many many years ago….anyway I digress.
Style Me Luxe, a fabulous boutique at Stafford, has such amazing clothing, affordable, quality and the owner Melita really knows her stock. Perusing the racks recently I happened upon this ‘Country Denim’ brand denim jacket for only $69.95 – size 12 (even better) – so it came home with me.
Then my challenge was the styling. So taking inspiration from the likes of Karen (Styleloving2) and Nikki (Stylingyou), here are my styles so far.
So far my styling is ‘more casual’ as that has always been my thinking, but do plan on experimenting more, to dress up this new fav.
